New as of Spring 2023 we are excited to offer our Pasture Raised Venison Tallow, sourced exclusively from small family farms across the United States. Venison is a lean animal by nature, but its fat produces a high-quality tallow that offers a range of benefits, both culinary and personal care related. Read on to discover the unique qualities of our "deerest tallow" yet.

Benefits:

  1. Pasture Raised: Our venison tallow is sourced from small family farms that prioritize ethical and sustainable practices. The venison tallow is derived from pasture-raised venison, free from additives, hormones, or antibiotics. Note: they are not 100% "grass-fed and receive non-GMO grains, as well as the grass and leaves from the pasture.

  2. High Smoke Point: Pasture-Raised Venison Tallow has a high smoke point, making it an excellent choice for cooking at high temperatures. Its stability and resistance to oxidation make it suitable for various culinary applications such as frying, roasting, and sautéing.

  3. Distinct Flavor: The unique taste of venison tallow steps up your cooking game, literally. Its slight gamey flavor adds a delicious and savory depth to your culinary creations as you venture out from the more common cow, pork and poultry fats. It enhances the flavors of dishes and can be used as a versatile ingredient in both sweet and savory recipes.

Uses:

  1. Cooking: Venison tallow serves as a healthier alternative to traditional seed oil cooking. Use it to fry crispy and flavorful foods or as a substitute for butter or lard in baking recipes. Its high smoke point makes it ideal for searing meats and creating perfectly browned crusts.

  2. Roasting and Grilling: Brush venison tallow onto your meats and vegetables before grilling or roasting to impart moisture and enhance the natural flavors. It helps seal in juices, resulting in tender and succulent dishes.

  3. Baking: Incorporate into your baking recipes for a unique twist. From flaky pie crusts to moist cakes and cookies, its creamy texture and rich flavor will elevate your baked goods.

  4. Skin and Hair Care: Pasture-Raised Venison Tallow offers nourishing properties for personal care routines. Its moisturizing and emollient qualities make it an excellent choice for skincare products such as balms, lotions, and soaps. Additionally, it can be used as a conditioning treatment for hair, promoting shine and manageability.

Our Commitment:

As always we prioritize transparency and strive to provide you with the highest quality products we would like to let you know that our Pasture-Raised Venison Tallow is carefully sourced to ensure it meets our rigorous standards of excellence, however, the label on this product does not have the Pasture-Raised claim. This is due to an oversight when making the labels and we will have new labels once we run out of our old ones. We only source from one Venison farm and they raise exclusively Pasture Raised Venison so there is no way to get them mixed up for a non-Pasture-Raised product.
