WHY GRASS-FED TALLOW SOAP?
There are numerous benefits of tallow-based soap, but the main one is that it feels great. Let's explore what makes tallow soap so prized in the world of soap making and along the way we'll let talk about sustainability, fragrance, and the advantages of superfatting.
WITH GREAT FAT COMES GREAT SOAP
Tallow is renowned for its moisturizing properties, delivering deep hydration and leaving your skin feeling soft, supple, and rejuvenated. Essential fatty acids, such as palmitoleic acid, possess potent anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe and calm sensitive skin. Grass-Fed Tallow Soap also retains the naturally occurring glycerin, a humectant that draws moisture to the skin, ensuring intense hydration with every use. Feel the difference as the glycerin works to lock in moisture, leaving your skin feeling nourished and smooth.
NO LATHER THAT YOU’D RATHER
One of the defining characteristics of tallow soap is its famous, luxurious lather which is best described as rich and creamy. The creamy consistency of tallow soap allows for a smooth and comfortable bathing or showering experience and makes it a popular choice among wet shavers.
Fatworks didn’t invent “superfatting”, but it’s definitely our favorite word ever. Superfatting involves incorporating an extra amount of Grass-Fed Tallow into the soap formulation which ensures that there is a surplus of nourishing agents left in the final product. This provides your skin with an additional boost of hydration and protection. As Grass-Fed Tallow is super fat, so FAT BAR™ is a soap superfatted with super fat.
In general, Grass-Fed Tallow soap has a mild fragrance that is often described as "clean" or "natural", and for those wondering, no, it’s not beefy smelling at all. Our soaps are infused with essential oils to create a subtly scented, woodsy blend of juniper, with citrusy notes of mandarin. Juniper evokes a sense of tranquility and relaxation while the citrus awakens your senses.
When we started in 2011, farmers were throwing out their excess fat. By incorporating Grass-Fed tallow into soap, we can give yet another viable use for an otherwise discarded resource. The tallow used in the making of our soaps is exactly the same as the Grass-Fed, Grass-Finished Tallow that is found in our Fatworks jars which are sourced exclusively from mall family farms across the USA. Using tallow soap is a great way to take a more environmentally conscious approach to personal care.
Fatworks sources and supports sustainable small family farms whenever possible. No animal testing. No artificial nothing.
