Thinest slice on madolin cooks pretty quick, medium sliced ones took longer. We used a coffee filter, wide mouth Ball jar and ring to filter and save.
Forget Seed oils, they are garbage.

First time I tried lard and absolutely love it! I’ve been using it as a healthier replacement for seed/vegetable oils when frying. This review is on packaging and customer service only. I haven’t had occasion to use the product yet. My package arrived with a smashed jar and lard everywhere. Shards of glass throughout. It was a real mess to clean up and salvage the intact jars. A jar of duck broth I ordered came in a ziploc. Why wouldn’t each jar be packaged in a ziploc so when one breaks it stays contained in its bag. I contacted customer service and they never responded back.

While this photo doesn't show our Lard in action, it does show we are stocked and ready for action!! We live in TN and I know good lard, as we used to kill our own hogs and hung 'em in the smokehouse to cure, grandma would also then make her own premium lard...this is the closest product I can find that's as good as grandma's was!!

Biscuits from scratch is the only way!, I use whole buttermilk, “ Fatworks lard”, aluminum free baking powder, and King Arthur
Flour”, that stuff in a can at store called “ shortening “, is not vegetable oil

I had never even heard of pork lard but was interested in finding out for myself if lard would be be better than standard cooking oils. Good product. Got both the organic lard and the leaf lard. Too expensive though. Then you add in the $11 plus delivery fee for 2 small bottles and feel strongly that I'm not getting any bang for my buck.

What a shock it was to me to try my first teaspoon of this Fatworks Organic Pork Lard.
I have not eaten any pork products for the past 30 years and now that I am committed to following the GAPS Diet, Pork Lard is a staple of my calorie intake. I had a memory of what pork tastes like, but this Lard exceeded even that favorable memory. Bottom Line is: I love this Lard! It is Subtle, easy to digest and clean-tasting.

Fatworks lard was perfect for my tamales! Best ones I have made yet. Same for other Mexican-style foods. It is great for biscuits. They come out so flaky & tender. The pot pie crusts & more. I had ordered some of the Wild Boar to try for a biscuits & gravy. I cannot wait to see how that comes out. A bonus: what it does for mature skin, including around the eyes & 'resting cranky face' (ahem) marks between the eyes is beyond awesome! We love Fatworks fats.
