Used Fatworks lard to make tamales. Works very well.
Charles
High quality. Healthy. Brain building. Delicious in my keto muffins beyond compare. There is a long story - I can't share it all here, know these are really helping me. Thank you!!!
paul M.
We use it in our bread recipes instead of plant based oils, never disappointed
Donald K.
Great fat! I've been using it for years. I will continue to -- consistently high quality.
Donald K.
The Leaf Lard creates such tender and hefty bread. I absolutely love it. I will continue getting this for years to come.
Jamie S.
I love this lard! It works wonderfully to keep things from sticking and I actually use it in an old cookie recipe that calls for Crisco. lol I love that I can use it in any recipt without any pork taste or smell. Truly the best of the best as far as I'm concerned!
Joe C.
Wish I had a gallon. Much better than seed oil snd healthier
Patty L.
Can't wait to use it for my homemade pie crust.
Darryl T.
Makes fantastic tasting home made biscuits. After years of buying Grands pre made frozen, decided to make them again. Much better. I now pre measure 1/3 cup of leaf lard and 2 Tbsp of unsalted butter and freeze after dicing into as small pieces as I can. I also freeze 2 cups of self rising flour (White Lilly is my go to) in a ziplock. They rise nicely and taste fantastic!

PHENOMINAL. Made this mixed berry pie with a pie crust recipe that used both leaf lard and butter (a perfect combo; one for a flaky crust, the other for flavor). Recipes for both crust and blueberry pie (I used a mixture of blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry) from www.beyondkimchee. Interestingly, I recently read that lard has less saturated fat than butter! This lard is quite soft even kept in the fridge, so make sure it is cold when you mix your piecrust. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Mary A.
I have made a couple of baked goods so far and the leaf lard is so easy to work with, creates a very soft, usable dough. The flavor is so much better than shortening. I thoroughly recommend it!!
Andrea C.
Very happy cooking using our Leaf lard. Our food comes out nice and tasty.
Matthew C.
Because of what I've read, I was looking for a good quality lard for cooking and baking.
Leaf lard is considered the best quality lard, however it's not available in any local grocery store, that's why I ordered from your website.
Debra C.
Love your products, use nearly all of them!
Debbie Y C.
I use the leaf lard more now because I'm not afraid lard is bad for us..I put a table spoon in my homemade chicken soup and many other things. it gives body.
Salomon A.
I have used two different varieties of lard from Fatworks. They are amazing. Just like our ancestors, I am starting to cook with pork lard, since it’s nutritious and has a high smoke point.
Georg T.
I received Leaf Lard for Christmas and decided to try it in a pie crust recipe that calls for butter and lard. Having previously used regular inexpensive lard, I was curious how this Fat Works Leaf Lard would play out. Working with it, I found it important to keep the lard and the dough extra cold, and to chill the pie crust after putting it in the pan. Baking my chocolate pecan pie was a breeze. Did not need to cover the edges because the Leaf Lard seemed to protect it from browning too quickly. The resulting crust was flaky, evenly cooked, and just perfect. I am very happy with how it all turned out. Will use it in my next batch of Welsh Cakes and I know it will offer that perfect bite and sandy smoothness. Thank you, Fat Works!
CHARLIE H.
Awesome taste
Easy to use
No seed oils
Thank you,
Charlie
William D.
pure clean flavor--awesome for your homade pie crusts
Rosanna A.
Great products!!!
Sophia A.
Used it to make our tamales. No complaints whatsoever. They got the job done!
Derrick W.
Makes perfect pure crusts and is a good sub for butter on a grilled cheese.
Joyce H.
Since my switch to animal fats, there is no going back. I have tried other brands of lard but since trying Fatworks leaf lard this is my brand. The flavor and quality is there.
Sarah H.
Timely delivery and quality product.
Annette H.
Your products are amazing and add so much to everything I bake or roast
Jessica S.
Love the leaf lard! It makes the best tortillas and tortilla strips.
Aixa R.
First time ordering & it was received within timeframe & well packaged. I haven’t used it for cooking or baking yet but it has a nice creamy feel & look. I also didn’t notice any smell. I’m very happy with my order & plan to continue to buy from them. I’ll be recommending to family & Friends.
Susan N.
This is the only leaf lard I will ever use! Makes my pie crust turn out perfect every time! Super easy ordering and really fast shipping
Barbara B.
So far so good...we are really enjoying it!!
Thank you.
Jennifer M.
Was an excellent ingredient to a traditional New Mexican biscochito cookie recipe!
Vicki H.
It is so good to get seed oil out of our lives!
Darlene B.
This makes the BEST pie crust, the best!!!
Preston J.
This my second purchase and the quality see seems the same as the first order. I don’t use a lot of lard but when I do I want it to be first rate.
Amy K.
I am ssoooo excited to receive this! My mother in law makes the best apple pie but with Crisco, which is terrible for your health. I am gifting this to her, which is the original way her ancestors from Italy cooked her famous pie. It will make it extra flaky. I also can’t wait to buy the organic tallow, but it’s been sold out! I hope they get it back in stock soon.
Patti T.
I decided to add a picture to my first review that shows how leaf lard is suppose to look. The taste and smell are just as telling as the picture. I tried to reach out to fatworks by phone with no reply.
Kellylynn M.
I head about leaf lard in baking - specifically for the creating the most delicate and flakey pie crusts. I did a baking test using my grandmother’s recipe and the leaf lard truly did make the best pie crusts ever!
Patti T.
I ordered several jars of Leaf Lard by going off the reviews. I am extremely disappointed. This leaf lard has a strong odor and there is a strong taste. I since went to my butcher and got 10 lbs. of leaf lard and made my own batch. There is most definitely a difference. My leaf lard is almost pure white, while fatworks has a yellow color. My leaf lard has no taste or smell. I tried to use fatworks while frying some bacon and the fatworks smell overtook my bacon! I made a pie crust and the crust was nasty. I tried to reach out by phone with fatworks and have had no reply. I usually just let things go and never order again. But this order cost me $84 of crap.
Donald K.
It's great! Makes for a rich, layered, flaky pie crust. And great for biscuits, too! Will definitely buy again
Steve B.
Have used these fats several times, always the highest quality. The Japanese Wagyu beef tallow with fried potatoes is sooooooo good. I use the wild boar lard in my christmas tamales, and they were so good, on top of the smoked pork in them of course, that i was "volunteered" to make them every year for christmas now.
Elizabeth C.
The leaf lard is an excellent product. Plus, I have the assurance that what I am preparing for my family is safe to eat. I REALLY like and appreciate this fine family business.
Jennifer O.
great shop and good resource for these products! super fast shipping!
Christl M.
Ooh-la-la! This made the most flaky, tasty pie crust EVER!
JOHN D.
Great product; better than Mom used to render! Excellent clamshell packaging got everything to me in perfect shape! Thanks!
Cynthia G.
Bought Leaf Lard, was well packed and easy to work with. Learned how to make buttermilk biscuits, and have made multiple batches over the past couple of weeks for husband's birthday. Suffice to say he's happy.
Cindy G.
I made my first apple pie using dough with half leaf lard from fat works and half unsalted butter. The result was picture perfect. Tender and flaky. Many positive reviews at Thanksgiving. Never going back to all butter dough. My order on line came in less than a week and the product was in perfect condition (and I live on Maui)! TY!
Deborah K.
The leaf lard is perfect for biscuits and other baked goods. It makes the perfect pie crusts!! Flaky and tender.
cynthia l.
Made a pie crust with lard and butter, exquisite! The best pie crust I have ever made.
Trudi L.
Used this leaf lard for my pies over the holidays. My crusts turned out great!
Gloria R.
Best pie crust I have ever made!
Rebecca M.
A wonderful fat for making pies, my grandmother's Christmas cookies and our family favorite Norwegian lefse. I love the quality of this lard compared to what I can buy in the store.
Merry S.
Love the leaf lard!! Will definitely order it again.
Kathleen L.
I have one complaint, the "use by" date is impossible to find or read, this has been the history of this product.
Permanently Stamp the date on the lid (not some flimsy piece of paper) so it is easy to find and read.
Stella M.
The leaf lard makes a great pie crust. Very pleased with the results.
I also use the duck fat. For my savory dishes. I havent used seed oil in a long time.
Sarah B.
Best leaf lard for pie crust, by far!!!
Charlotte P.
I love making pie crust from the leaf lard!
R K.
Nice to have, use it for baked goods. Tried it for the first time and unfortunately I can taste the rosemary oil in it. Way too much, it overpowered the brownies and I only used a 2 tbsp.
Rita W.
Mild taste and cook with it more than once a day. I will be using this in place of seed oils.
Shawn Shannon S.
Great stuff for baking!
Jaime K.
Love my fatworks. Food has so much more flavor and feels more filling more quickly.
David K.
Great product as always
Steve M.
FINALLY, have found a healthy way to cook !
Using my cast iron pan nothing sticks. We have tossed all our supposedly non stick pans.
The flavor it adds to the food is over the top!
mark kastamo K.
Love this fat! A must have for eggs, fried potatoes, stir fries, and all baking.
Marcia S.
Love your product. Makes the best flaky pie crust.
Stacey G.
I wanted to try leaf lard pie crust and ordered two jars that arrived quickly and VERY securely packed. The recipe I use normally calls for part vegetable shortening and part butter. I swapped in the leaf lard for the shortening and the difference for the better is incredible. The dough comes together more easily with the leaf lard. It rolls out smoothly and doesn’t break when transferring to the pie dish. I usually have some shrinking, even if the dough is chilled before baking, but not with leaf lard. The tenderness is unmatched. Absolutely the best break in any pie crust I’ve made. The flake is also totally different than shortening crust. I can actually see the crust layers in a slice of pie. Since my recipe also uses butter, I really don’t taste anything but butter, which is how I prefer it. Now that I’ve tried leaf lard, I won’t use shortening again. The results are that much better with the lard. A pie crust game changer!
Anabel F.
Happy to finally find a natural and organic pork lard product, and I couldn’t be happier. This is exactly what I’ve been searching for—a pure, high-quality alternative to processed fats. The lard has a rich, clean flavor and a creamy texture that works perfectly for baking, frying, and even sautéing
Dena S.
Great product. Use in all my scones, biscuits, and pie crust recipes.
Barbara P.
I like that you offer a healthy fat to use in my baking. And the finished baked product always turns out perfectly without the taste of pork.
Ellen Grasso I.
I've been using Fatworks for years! How does anyone make a flakey piecrust without leaf lard? I can't imagine it....
Raymond V.
Using my Leaf Lard for ingredient in my Whey Protein Shakes. May sound disgusting, but it isn't. I just wish I could get everything to blend together better, powder and fat.
Anita C.
very pleased with my purchase.
Heather D.
Great product. No pork scent. Nice quality. Great for baking.
Patricia J.
Quality lard, careful and fast shipping, a great experience all around.
Jerry B.
I have had a pretty good experience cooking with these products. This last order was simply to stock up for the coming months. I truly believe the quality of the lard has helped me make better biscuits.
David B.
Absolutely first class lard!!!
Tamara H.
I never received the product, I did reach out to the company to get an answer that the product had been delivered. Which I have clearly not received and did not receive a confirmation on the exact date this delivery was supposed to have happened. I would love to try the product, but now I'm a bit more concerned about the money I paid, total lack of customer service via online, having only received one email. Just an FYI the company isn't always right. But I'm getting ready to start an investigation with my bank.
Jean C.
I used it to make the crust for my apple pie.It came out nice and flaky!
Alana
Quality lard! Thanks for upping my pie crust game, Fatworks!
Michael T.
Great product. Lard is much easier to work with than vegetable oil(crisco) and taste better. I have made 3 pies so far.
Cynthia M.
I grew up on lard, but I never remember it tasting like this leaf lard. It smells and tastes "off". I am so disappointed after all the great reviews. I expected to be transported back to the biscuits, pie crusts, fried chicken, etc., I experienced during my childhood. Maybe I'll try another brand.
Katy B.
The only lard for Sonoran tortillas- i’ve ordered several times and this leaf lard is the best!
Donna K.
We enjoy the healthy benefits as our food intolerances restrict what we consume. It is the best substitute we've found but is hard to find in stores. We bought 4 of the Leaf Lard Premium & 1 Organic which we've not tried before. The texture of the Premium is perfect for baking.
Hilary B.
I needed lard for a flour tortilla recipe, and I researched that leaf lard was the best. And this leaf lard is awesome! No funky flavours or porky smells, which I really appreciated.
Krystal H.
I have researched how horrible hydrogenated oils are for you. I researched non-hydrogenated lard and found FatWorks. I received the Leaf Lard today and used it to fry potatoes. The smell of the lard is great! My fried potatoes were the best I have ever made!! I am looking forward to baking with it soon! I will definitely purchase again!
I am looking forward to my Beef Tallow arriving this week!
Therese N.
The jars arrived safely and intact. I know the leaf is normally used for baking but I just couldn’t resist giving it a try on a small batch of French fries . Wonderful ! So crisp and delicious ! Can’t wait to use it again real soon.
Jessica S.
Using this for my homemade tortillas has been a game changer! It’s delicious!
Mary M.
I made a cherry pie with Fatworks and butter, It was delicious. I abutter.and m 78 yrs old and my mom used to make her pies with lard and butter. My pie was good but not as good as hers.
Victoria T.
I ordered 2 jars of leaf lard. They came packaged in individual protected packaging... Really nice. No issues at all. Gave one to a friend and kept the other one. We are making Tamales soon. Had used shortening previously and decided to go Hog wild and make authentic tamales...
Lisa D.
I used leaf lard instead of shortening to make a crust for our favorite chicken pot pie recipe and it was fabulous. I’ll definitely be purchasing this again. Highly recommend.
Naomi A.
The smoothest animal fat ever. Yammy with raw meat, as is, and great on the skin.
Barbro B.
Too smelly! I am sure it would be just fine for cooking, but I use it for dry skin. Not so good with that kind of smell, so next time I might reconsider. I have used other leaf lards practically without smell, so I was a bit disappointed.
Stacey F.
This is the best product and equally great company. I live in Florida and wanted to buy some Leaf Lard for a special Christmas baking project that I had. I called them (in Colorado)the week before Christmas. They were able to mail it that day and it arrived at my house that Friday. I was so happy and my Christmas Tree Rolls turned out perfect. What a pleasure doing business with this 5* company.
Thank you again!
Terry D.
The best for baking and my cast iron skillets love it too! Great product and service! Highly recommended.
