I purchased this leaf lard first because I had never heard of it before and second because of the bragging about how well it works in baked goods. I made a pie crust for Christmas dessert. It was so tender and flakey. I have never been one for eating the crust. I usually just eat the inside. Not this time!….today I fried a pork chop in the lard. The flavor was so amazing and succulent. I’m hooked on Fatworks Fat.

Enjoyed this type of lard when growing up on the farm. We would get this lard and use it on toast and my mother used it to make bisqcuits and they were light and flakey, also made great pancakes.

Wonderful for pies, both sweet and savory! Fruit pies made with half butter and half Leaf Lard were delicious. Chicken pot pie with all Leaf Lard pie crust was very tender yet held the heavy ingredients together beautifully. (A touch of Chicken Schmaltz in the pot pie made a tasty difference, too!)

I've been very pleased with this lard. I use it for baking and cooking. I'm pretty picky about my ingredients. I use organic and locally sourced as much as possible, and I like to cook and bake as a hobby. This is excellent quality lard and the ordering and delivery process was quick and easy and the jars arrived intact. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other products.
