I love making pie crust from the leaf lard!
Rita W.
Mild taste and cook with it more than once a day. I will be using this in place of seed oils.
Shawn Shannon S.
Great stuff for baking!
Jaime K.
Love my fatworks. Food has so much more flavor and feels more filling more quickly.
David K.
Great product as always
Steve M.
FINALLY, have found a healthy way to cook !
Using my cast iron pan nothing sticks. We have tossed all our supposedly non stick pans.
The flavor it adds to the food is over the top!
mark kastamo K.
Love this fat! A must have for eggs, fried potatoes, stir fries, and all baking.
Marcia S.
Love your product. Makes the best flaky pie crust.
Stacey G.
I wanted to try leaf lard pie crust and ordered two jars that arrived quickly and VERY securely packed. The recipe I use normally calls for part vegetable shortening and part butter. I swapped in the leaf lard for the shortening and the difference for the better is incredible. The dough comes together more easily with the leaf lard. It rolls out smoothly and doesn’t break when transferring to the pie dish. I usually have some shrinking, even if the dough is chilled before baking, but not with leaf lard. The tenderness is unmatched. Absolutely the best break in any pie crust I’ve made. The flake is also totally different than shortening crust. I can actually see the crust layers in a slice of pie. Since my recipe also uses butter, I really don’t taste anything but butter, which is how I prefer it. Now that I’ve tried leaf lard, I won’t use shortening again. The results are that much better with the lard. A pie crust game changer!
Anabel F.
Happy to finally find a natural and organic pork lard product, and I couldn’t be happier. This is exactly what I’ve been searching for—a pure, high-quality alternative to processed fats. The lard has a rich, clean flavor and a creamy texture that works perfectly for baking, frying, and even sautéing
Dena S.
Great product. Use in all my scones, biscuits, and pie crust recipes.
Barbara P.
I like that you offer a healthy fat to use in my baking. And the finished baked product always turns out perfectly without the taste of pork.
Ellen Grasso I.
I've been using Fatworks for years! How does anyone make a flakey piecrust without leaf lard? I can't imagine it....
Raymond V.
Using my Leaf Lard for ingredient in my Whey Protein Shakes. May sound disgusting, but it isn't. I just wish I could get everything to blend together better, powder and fat.
Anita C.
very pleased with my purchase.
Heather D.
Great product. No pork scent. Nice quality. Great for baking.
Patricia J.
Quality lard, careful and fast shipping, a great experience all around.
Jerry B.
I have had a pretty good experience cooking with these products. This last order was simply to stock up for the coming months. I truly believe the quality of the lard has helped me make better biscuits.
David B.
Absolutely first class lard!!!
Tamara H.
I never received the product, I did reach out to the company to get an answer that the product had been delivered. Which I have clearly not received and did not receive a confirmation on the exact date this delivery was supposed to have happened. I would love to try the product, but now I'm a bit more concerned about the money I paid, total lack of customer service via online, having only received one email. Just an FYI the company isn't always right. But I'm getting ready to start an investigation with my bank.
Jean C.
I used it to make the crust for my apple pie.It came out nice and flaky!
Alana
Quality lard! Thanks for upping my pie crust game, Fatworks!
Michael T.
Great product. Lard is much easier to work with than vegetable oil(crisco) and taste better. I have made 3 pies so far.
Cynthia M.
I grew up on lard, but I never remember it tasting like this leaf lard. It smells and tastes "off". I am so disappointed after all the great reviews. I expected to be transported back to the biscuits, pie crusts, fried chicken, etc., I experienced during my childhood. Maybe I'll try another brand.
Katy B.
The only lard for Sonoran tortillas- i’ve ordered several times and this leaf lard is the best!
Donna K.
We enjoy the healthy benefits as our food intolerances restrict what we consume. It is the best substitute we've found but is hard to find in stores. We bought 4 of the Leaf Lard Premium & 1 Organic which we've not tried before. The texture of the Premium is perfect for baking.
Hilary B.
I needed lard for a flour tortilla recipe, and I researched that leaf lard was the best. And this leaf lard is awesome! No funky flavours or porky smells, which I really appreciated.
Krystal H.
I have researched how horrible hydrogenated oils are for you. I researched non-hydrogenated lard and found FatWorks. I received the Leaf Lard today and used it to fry potatoes. The smell of the lard is great! My fried potatoes were the best I have ever made!! I am looking forward to baking with it soon! I will definitely purchase again!
I am looking forward to my Beef Tallow arriving this week!
Therese N.
The jars arrived safely and intact. I know the leaf is normally used for baking but I just couldn’t resist giving it a try on a small batch of French fries . Wonderful ! So crisp and delicious ! Can’t wait to use it again real soon.
Jessica S.
Using this for my homemade tortillas has been a game changer! It’s delicious!
Mary M.
I made a cherry pie with Fatworks and butter, It was delicious. I abutter.and m 78 yrs old and my mom used to make her pies with lard and butter. My pie was good but not as good as hers.
Victoria T.
I ordered 2 jars of leaf lard. They came packaged in individual protected packaging... Really nice. No issues at all. Gave one to a friend and kept the other one. We are making Tamales soon. Had used shortening previously and decided to go Hog wild and make authentic tamales...
Lisa D.
I used leaf lard instead of shortening to make a crust for our favorite chicken pot pie recipe and it was fabulous. I’ll definitely be purchasing this again. Highly recommend.
Naomi A.
The smoothest animal fat ever. Yammy with raw meat, as is, and great on the skin.
Barbro B.
Too smelly! I am sure it would be just fine for cooking, but I use it for dry skin. Not so good with that kind of smell, so next time I might reconsider. I have used other leaf lards practically without smell, so I was a bit disappointed.
Stacey F.
This is the best product and equally great company. I live in Florida and wanted to buy some Leaf Lard for a special Christmas baking project that I had. I called them (in Colorado)the week before Christmas. They were able to mail it that day and it arrived at my house that Friday. I was so happy and my Christmas Tree Rolls turned out perfect. What a pleasure doing business with this 5* company.
Thank you again!
Terry D.
The best for baking and my cast iron skillets love it too! Great product and service! Highly recommended.
Andrea W.
Used this lard to make homemade tortilla chips, and they were amazing. I will not use anything else for frying again. TY Fatworks!
Sara H.
Apple pie had the flakiest crust ever! Awesome product—will never go back
Derrick W.
Used this instead of butter for grilled cheese and baking cookies! So good! Well buy more!
Debbie Y C.
I made tamales with some of the lard I ordered and they turned out really good
peter w.
An essential ingredient along with butter for perfect pastry and a tsp or two in bread dough helps too.
Edward T.
I grew up eating everything cooked in lard. Then came the cholesterol scare. So I never used it again, but now using your product I see it is better than using butter. I use it every morning to fry home fried potatoes. The flavor is very mild and the potatoes brown to perfection. I'll continue to use leaf lard each and every day for every ocassion.
Jamie P.
I read about using leaf lard to make pie crusts and had to try it. My grandmother made wonderful pies and passed her recipes to me. Her crusts used shortening which made them light and flaky; but over the years as I learned more about hydrogenated fats, I switched to all butter crusts.
So, I was looking forward to trying lead lard. Hands down, the best pie crust I have ever made!!! I am so happy with this product and can’t wait to convert other recipes that call for shortening. Shipping was fast, well packaged. I am extra happy with Fatworks relationship with farmers committed to pasture raised, non gmo and organic farming practices. The Fatworks leaf lard is a superior product.
Deborah C.
Made my battered fried chicken crispy brown and delicious!! I definitely recommend.
Weifang T.
I like this product. I used it for stir fry vegetables , taste good.
Jennifer S.
Purchased beef tallow and leaf fat from these folks because I'm sick to death of seed oils. Have since used the leaf fat for cornbread and cooking meat. I am looking forward to using it in my baking projects as well. Haven't had a chance to use the tallow yet but the leaf fat is delicious and very low in scent which makes it versatile for me to use in cakes, etc. Finally found my way back to natural fat and couldn't be happier.
Pamela G.
I have used the Fatworks leaf lard before so I know it is a great product but was concerned when it arrived liquified without it even being warm days here. Called & was told this is not uncommon & told me what to do, it is now in fridge and hasn’t been used yet. We’ll see
Eli D.
I purchased this lard for use in making salves, and it absolutely melts into my skin. I infused it with several ounces of conifer resin, which gave it a wonderful aroma in addition to the medicinal benefits of the resin. When I can't find a local source of rendered fat, I know where to turn.
Audrey P.
GREAT customer service and love their products.
Colette S.
My grandmother made biscuits with lard and when I read the saturatuaded fat content of lard was less than butter, I ordered twice from Amazon. At the time they were caring a brand made by Proper Foods. Recently, because Proper Foods was no longer listed, I ordered a jar of your brand to make biscuits. There is a taste to your lard as well as a color not present in your competators. I did not care for the taste and gave the jar to a friend who seasons his food with bacon greese. I think it will be perfect for seasoning but not for buttermilk biscuit.
Deborah B.
looking forward to making a pie crust with this
Amy K.
this leaf lard makes the best pie crust ever! It is my secret ingredient
Taylor C.
Honestly I’ve been using my own lard and ran out. This is a life saver! I’m glad I went ahead and bought it.
alison C.
Taste is delicious. So far I cook my breakfast eggs with it.
Barbara P.
A long time friend told me about Fatworks and how cooking with lard is a healthier choice in baking. So I tried it. I have used it in homemade “Bisquick”, cakes, cookies, and pie crusts. The textures and tastes have been amazing!
Thank you for this wonderful product!
Paul G.
I made Old Fashioned Lard Biscuits. They turned out awesome. I will be buying more of your products.
Loriel K.
Love this company and their products!
Eric H.
We decided to find a good lard to use for our daily dose of bacon and eggs after reading a finding about how a popular spray we were using wasn't all that healthy. Growing up our mothers used lard so my wife and I thought we need to find a good quality lard to use, and found Fatworks Leaf Lard. After reading the reviews, we were convinced and bought our first jar. It has made a good different in the taste of our food, and we are delighted to be new Fatworks customers.
If you are thinking about using lard, try Fatworks products. They are very easy to use, and are as pure as can be in regards to their products, I know you will like them as much as we do
Olivia P.
This was a gift for my son. He loves your products an is so glad these are back. He’s very happy.

Was a gift for my son. He’s so happy to have this product available again. He truly miss it. Arrived on time.

Makes excellent chocolate chip cookies!

Quick ship and cooked great!

I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Leaf lard helps make the best pie crusts! Apple pie, anyone?
Dina P.
This is my go to place for buying leaf lard. It is what you expect leaf lard to be, good quality, and perfect for my baked goods.
Kristina G.
The care that went into packaging this product was beyond my experience in the past and was in perfect condition! I couldn't wait to get started using these jars so I used them right away. I'm just now getting into eating Lard (25yr vegetarian) so taste is a big deal to me since its not something I'm used and the Leaf Lard has proven to be a great place to start. I had zero issues with separation with my jars. I originally found this company on Amazon but decided to order direct from Fatworks to make sure they didn't have to pay the fees to sell through Amazon. I'm thankful for companies like Fatworks and will continue to support/purchase from them in the future.
David S.
Good but too expensive. Plus a delivery fee of over $11 on just 2 small jars. No bang for the buck here.
Cindy J.
Actually I was going to contact you. Why was the product sent out of date?? The date stamped is October 6, 2022. It has a big air bubble and to me the color is off. For what I paid, I’m not sure if I will reorder again. I use leaf lard exclusively for pie crusts..
AJ Adams A.
I love fatworks! I have been on a wellness journey and have lost 70 lbs. Exercising and changing my diet have been a huge part of the journey and fatworks has been there every step of the way making the food I eat delicious and nutritious! I should have uploaded the photoshop of me sitting next to my fat self that I made instead of this delicious food. Hahahaha
Kathleen E.
I've always had trouble making good pie crust, and a friend recommended leaf lard. I'd never heard of it! Couldn't find it locally, so I was happy to find Fatworks. The online ordering was easy, and I was able to track my shipment easily. My Thanksgiving pies were the best I've ever made. Looking forward to making biscuits next!
Earl N.
It was what I ordered. It was securely packaged. It came in a reasonable time. It was expensive.
Rozann J.
Love this Leaf Lard for baking delicate pastry doughs. My grandmother an Italian baker swore by Leaf Lard- her pastries were light and flakey with no porky taste.
Jean M.
I bought Leaf Lard as a gift for my cousin who was wanting to make a pie crust like our Grandma used to make. I had it shipped directly to her and it arrived on time and in great shape. Praise The Lard, the pie turned out terrific and got a thumbs up from her husband and his friend, as well as requests for a second piece.
Charlotte P.
I love to use your leaf lard to make my pie crust!
Mommom's Bakery
Fatworks is a bakery saver!! I have a bakery with my mom in Charlotte, NC. I use rendered leaf lard in my pie crust, and it makes it so much better than it would be without it. I just pre-baked a bunch of pie crusts in little pie tins last night, no filling yet, and they smell like xmas cookies when they come out of the oven. We don’t put any sugar in our pie crust, it’s just good fat and good flour.
Our customers have said things like “that’s the best pie I’ve ever had,” “that pie is amazing,” etc. Without Fatworks, we couldn’t pull this off on the scale we do. Before I started our bakery I’d find a jar here, and a small container there of leaf lard to make pies for my family and friends, but most bakeries use that horrifying, banned in some countries, hydrogenated oil (trans fats), so good quality rendered leaf lard just wasn’t available to order reliably in gallons before Fatworks came along. We bake pie all year long, so we need leaf lard when we need it, not just when the one local farmer with it has it (though, we LOVE our local farmers). A reliable source of this key ingredient is crucial for us, and that is what they provide. I can never thank Fatworks enough for what they do. We could not do this without them.
Kelly U.
This leaf lard fries so lightly when cooking fried chicken. Doesn't feel as greasy as regular cooking oils. Adds a nice mild flavor. I feel so much better eating food fried in this leaf lard compared to refined seed cooking oils.
Carrie E.
Fatworks saved my life! I was addicted to processed food-like items. Now I begin every day with Fatworks nutrient rich stable grass fed Goat Ghee in my French pressed coffee and end everyday with steak and eggs fried in Fatworks Leaf Lard. My metabolic health has improved dramatically and depression no longer haunts me. Health is in the Fat of FATWORKS.
rita s.
I recently ordered almost one of everything from Fat Works to see what was best. And the Leaf Lard is the winner! It’s almost sweet but in the best way. It’s a real treat!
AJ Adams A.
This burger made with the ultimate cooking fat might be the best burger I ever made in my whole life. I can't imagine my life without fatworks products now because it makes everything better. My great grandma always used to slice up her hot dogs and add them as a layer on the burger. She would have been proud of this burger and the hot dogs fried in leaf lard were spectacular!
Bobbie Jo K.
Great quality and exactly as expected. This stuff is great for pie crusts, baked goods and frying.
Will be a customer for life!
Laura J.
Raised in the Crisco years, I am new to lard. And new to non-GMO, ‘real’ food. Reading the 100 Days of Real Food led me to making (delicious) homemade tortillas and breakfast burritos.
Which led to King Arthur Flour’s recipe for homemade tortillas. At first, I made them with butter. But, the recipe also suggested LARD. After much research, I chose Fatworks premium leaf lard and made tortillas once more.
The difference is night and day. Soft, pliable, delicious. Easily folds around the breakfast burrito filling. I won’t go back to butter for this recipe. 100% recommended. Paradigm shifted permanently for this late in her 60’s cook.

I had received several pint jars and also a pail of pork lard. I did not realize that the pail had a crack in it. After we had used all the pint jars I went in to get the pail and it had leaked on to the lid of a 5-gallon bucket that it was sitting on top of. I contacted the company and spoke with Dave. Dave made it right, I spoke with him on Friday but he was out of town. He contacted me the following Monday morning and personally took care of the problem. I received an email from Dave Monday afternoon informing me that the replacement port for pale which is approximately a gallon would be going out that evening. I have received it In good condition. He also follow back up to make sure that I had received it and that everything was fine. I appreciate his personal attention and quick response to my complaint. On this one note alone I would continue to do business with FAT WORKS. On another note I would like to compliment the company that works on their excellent product of pure Pork Lard and pure tallow products. They also have various other products of cooking and baking Lard. Their Lard & Tallow has no other by products included in them. I certainly recommend that anyone try their products and I believe they will be 100% satisfied. Thanks again Dave,
Archie Burson

Absolute best, most delicious fat to cook with that I have ever encountered! Fatworks for life! I will never go back to cooking without lard. It just makes absolutely every food better than cooking with anything else.
Tom H.
Fatworks - LEAF LARD is now my go to Fat for baking. When baking calls for butter - I use the LEAF LARD. It has no discernible taste of pork - so if you want a perfectly neutral tasting fat - LEAF LARD is superb. This photo is an Italian Cookie - Sbresolina - which calls for 6 ounces of LARD or Butter. Having tried both - the full Lard makes the cookie a bit more crispy which is what it is to be when cooled... and then cracked.
Kenya V.
I feel that this is not a fair review because I should have read the label.... I didn’t expect that this would be flavored/seasoned with any spices, extracts. Not that it matters but in this case, I have an allergy to rosemary (I know! So odd!) anyway, I am unable to use it. BUT I love the duck tallow and bison tallow. So I am 100% certain that I would love this too, if it wasn’t for the Rosemary Extract
Nicholas P.
Fast shipping, excellent customer service, answered all my questions, great product, the leaf lard does not change the taste of what you are cooking.
Melissa G.
Excellent product. I deal with blood sugar issues and this helps stop the rollercoaster of my sugar when I add to quinoa or rice. Will definitely be ordering more.
Jennifer D.
Absolutely amazing product!! I use it for skin care and it feels wonderful on my skin. It doesn't have a strong odor and it absorbs great! I will be buying again!
Susan H.
I recently purchased the Leaf Lard and received it within a few days. It looked and smelled amazing and we quickly starting using it. I’ve made amazing biscuits and pie crusts as well as using it in my cooking. My grandmother made the most amazing crepes and I’ve tried for years to replicate them with no success. My son and family recently visited and requested my crepes so I decided to cook them in the leaf lard rather than the olive oil or butter I typically use and there it was, grandmother’s crepes! Since I was trying out this company for the first time I decided to pay the shipping and just order one jar so it was expensive but now that I know what to expect I’ll increase my next order (and there will be many more) so that the shipping will be free. Thank you for this service, those of us that know the value of real animal fat and don’t own a farm owe you a debt of gratitude!
Jessica B.
I've never purchased or used leaf lard for baking before. A recipe I was making called for using leaf lard in the pie dough. What an incredible difference this product made to my baking! The crust was the flakiest I've ever eaten. Even my family commented on the difference.
Purchasing this product not only made a difference to my baking, but from the time of purchase to receipt of the product, your company communicated with me and the product arrived even earlier than I had anticipated.
Thank you for a great experience and a wonderful product!
Evelyn C.
I use Leaf Lard all the time. It was referred to me by my nutritionist who said it's the best thing to cook with.
Karin A.
Was nervous due to strong smell. But crust was delicious and the fried potatos
Carmen T.
Browned bison meat making a stew with root vegetables. Amazing flavor rich aromatic taste. Delicious!
Julia V.
This is the only lard I buy now. I use it for baking pie crust and making homemade mincemeat. The texture is just like making it from scratch from pasture raised leaf lard, but that's hard for me to get a hold of and so much work (and smells up the house). I'd rather buy this and save all the time of making my own. I also love that it comes in a glass jar instead of plastic.
Anna T.
Fatworks is great! They make high quality products no matter what fat you purchase. Hands down I recommend them every time.
Cari H.
Excellent for cooking. I've been using bacon grease but will now switch to a cleaner fresher healthier fat. I love pie crust made with lard. This is the best.
Marla M N.
This is going to be the take away when I go visiting family this year out of State ! And I purchased a beef Tallow to take on the raid trip too so we can make more wonderful dishes even when at the Beach cabin !
